A Le Mans to reconquer
There Toyota presented the 2024 livery of the GR010 Hybrid. Like the Yaris involved in the WRC World Rally Championship already seen in action last weekend at Monte, the Japanese company has also decided to race in Endurance with a decidedly eye-catching black livery.
In 2023 Toyota won six out of seven appointments in the WEC World Championship, losing in the most prestigious one, the 24 hours of Le Mans where Ferrari won with the 499P.
Compared to last season, Toyota has left the world champion crew unchanged, that of the #8 car made up of Sebastien Buemi, Ryo Hirakawa and Brendon Hartley, while in the #7 there will be Nyck De Vries replacing José Maria Lopez along with Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi.
The calendar of the WEC plans to debut in 2024 to coincide with F1 in the Middle East. If the Circus is busy in Bahrain, the World Endurance Championship will instead be staged in Qatar for the 1812 km of Lusail. BMW, Alpine, Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini are the new manufacturers who will make the fight in the Hypercar class where Toyota is the company to beat even more extraordinary.
