Metro Awakening is the title of new game in the series developed by 4A Games, which will be in virtual reality: this is reported by a source considered reliable by several rather well-known leakers, including Tom Henderson, albeit with some important distinctions.
The author of the original post, in fact, specified that not knowing if the game will be exclusively in VR or it will simply support this technology with a dedicated mode, as has already happened on several occasions. It's also unclear whether the experience will be single player or include some form of multiplayer.
Of course, the new Metro is part of the long list of games that could be in the upcoming State of Play, so there is a real possibility that we will see it in action very soon the fruit of the work of the Ukrainian development team.
An important saga
Based on the novels by Russian writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, the Metro video game saga currently consists of three different chapterspublished since 2010. The first two, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, were remastered in 2014 for PS4 and Xbox One.
The last episode, Metro Exodus, was released in 2019 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, before enjoying an optimized re-release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2021.
