Sebastian Rode can prove once again how important he is for Eintracht Frankfurt. His signing was crucial for the club's sporting development. After this season, Rode is calling it quits.
Sebastian Rode is back. His hope has been fulfilled to be back in Frankfurt Eintracht's squad for the Hessen derby against Darmstadt 98 this Saturday (3:30 p.m. in the FAZ live ticker for the Bundesliga and on Sky). Then the captain returns on board after suffering a serious calf injury in the Conference League game against Aberdeen FC on September 23rd.
The 33-year-old professional footballer from Bergstrasse in Hesse had imagined his last season as a player to be completely different. He wanted to enjoy it, experience something great again and then put his feet up proud and satisfied, as he put it at the start of training this season in July. Until now there could be no question of enjoyment.
