Helldivers 2 is coming February 8, 2024 on PC and PS5. The game will allow shooter fans to also play in cross-play, but in case you want to play on Steam that is anyway You must have a PlayStation Network account.
The information comes directly from Steam, where it is reported that Helldivers 2 “Requires a third-party account: PlayStation Network (Supports linking to Steam account)“. You can see the detail in the image below.
The most credible reason behind this choice is linked to the fact that Helldivers 2, as already mentioned, will support cross-play. It is not in fact a standard procedure for Sonywhich doesn't require a PS Network account for its other games on Steam, such as God of War, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, and so on.
