Bribes in exchange for contracts with the MIUR, Boda sentenced to two years and two months in prison
The Rome preliminary hearing judge sentenced the former head of department of the Ministry of Education, Giovanna Boda, to two years and 2 months, as requested by the Prosecutor's Office. who chose the abbreviated procedure in the corruption proceedings in relation to Miur procurement. The judge ordered another sentence of 3 years and 4 months, as requested by prosecutor Carlo Villani, and three acquittals, with the formula because the crime does not exist and for not having committed the crime. For Boda the charges are of corruption for an act contrary to official duty and disclosure of official secrets. In his indictment, the prosecutor had assessed the collaboration given by Boda to the investigations, underlining how the former official was ''overshadowed by the power that led her to a delirium of omnipotence''.

As part of the same investigation, conducted by the Fiamme Gialle, it is the ordinary trial has already begun in which the entrepreneur Federico Bianchi from Castelbianco and 8 other people are accused. The charges for Boda and the entrepreneur are corruption for an act contrary to official duties, corruption for the exercise of functions, revelation and use of official secrets. According to the accusation, Boda, in charge of carrying out the procedures for selecting school projects, “unduly” received “the giving and promising of sums of money and benefits for himself and third parties for a total of over 3.2 million euros for the exercise of his functions and/or his powers as well as for the performance of a plurality of acts contrary to the duties of office” by Bianchi Di Castelbianco.
In the indictment, the prosecutors also accuse Boda of having revealed to Bianchi di Castelbianco “official information that should have remained secret. In particular, he anticipated via e-mail “ to the entrepreneur “before its publication, the draft notice for the financing of school projects to combat educational poverty, and invited and made him participate in meetings held at the Ministry in which it was necessary to decide on the distribution of funding to schools in apply to Law no. 440/1997, also delegating the final decision on this subdivision to the entrepreneur himself”.
