United Airlines confirmed to Broadcast (Group Estado's real-time news system) that identified problems in the installation of buffer doors on Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft during preliminary inspections carried out since last Saturday, 6th. According to a statement, the faults include “screws that require additional tightening”.
The airline added that it has canceled 200 flights that would use planes of this model and that it is working to resume operations in the coming days. The jets are temporarily prevented from flying by order of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the USA after an explosion in the air forced an emergency landing of Alaska Airlines last Friday, 5th.
Amid the news, Boeing's shares fell 0.11% in the after-hours of the New York Stock Exchange at around 7pm (Brasília time), after falling 8.03% in regular trading. United Airlines fell 0.37%.
