The tax administration has more than 600,000 euros in receivables from the company.
Western Uusimaa The district court has declared Espoo-based Esport Development oy bankrupt on Friday, January 5, credit information company Asiakastieto says.
Esport Development, founded in 2009, was applied for by the city newspaper Länsiväylän included in the bankruptcy Tax administrationwho has 639,518.91 euros in receivables from the company.
The arrears consist of unpaid value added taxes, health insurance premiums and withholding taxes.
“That Why is it unpaid? Because the money is gone”, CEO Färid Ainetdin answered Länsiväylä's question about arrears.
Esport Development is already another failed Esport company. In the fall, Esport Honka oy, the parent company of Honga, which played in the Veikkausliiga soccer league, went awry.
According to Asiakastieto, 85-year-old Ainetdin's other Esport companies include Esport Padel, Esport MiniArenas, Esport Arena and Esport Aalto.
“These things have no effect on Esport Arena and Esport Center. They continue to operate. Jobs are not in danger,” Ainetdin told Länsiväylä.
Asiakastieto states that the company's business is other business management consulting. According to Ainetdin, the bankruptcy is about “reorganization of operations”.
Western pass says that Esport Development had a long dispute behind the scenes with the company's former CEO Mikko Tuominen with.
Ainetdin fired Tuominen after Tuominen was elected to the board of Kiekko-Espoo ry in spring 2018. Tuominen won the case in the district court of Länsi-Uusimaa.
The dispute proceeded to the Helsinki Court of Appeal, where the matter was settled in the fall of 2023 after the parties reached an agreement outside the courtroom.
Ainetdin has been a significant figure and power user in Espoo's sports life for more than 40 years. He financed Honka with millions before Esport Honga's bankruptcy last autumn, due to which the salaries of players and other employees were not paid.
HS asked Ainetdin in Decemberwhich is his legacy to FC Honga for nine years.
“Good question. Is it barking, unwarranted criticism and even outright lies. Was that the inheritance then?”
“The intention has been good. I think I'm a sportsman to the core,” Ainetdin continued.
