Venice is shocked by the death of 16-year-old Leonardo Babetto: a few months ago the terrible diagnosis, today the tragic epilogue
Everyone in Venice is in shock over what happened to a 16-year-old boy. His name was Leonardo Babetto and he passed away in recent days after a battle of a few months with an illness that left him no escape. It all started a few months ago, with the diagnosis of a tumor, which however had not extinguished his desire to live and smile.
Born in 2007 in Venice, Leonardo Babetti lived in the neighborhood Trees of the Venetian capital.
A few months ago he started to notice that something was wrong with his body. A leg pain which as the days went by became more and more acute, until it became excruciating and to also hit the back.
Together with his parents he went to the hospitals and made a bitter discovery. A very aggressive disease, a cancer.
From the beginning the little boy knew that he would most likely end up on one wheelchair. Nonetheless he didn't let himself get discouraged. His desire to live, smile, study, has not changed in the slightest.
He continued, between one visit, one therapy and another, to carry on with his normal life everyday life.
In recent weeks, however, a drastic worsening, unfortunately until tragic and sudden epilogue that no one even wanted to imagine.
The emotional farewell to Leonardo Babetto
As mentioned, Leonardo Babetto lived in Alberoni with his family parents and the younger sister.
He had attended the two-year period at the Enrico Fermi Technical Institute in Venice and had already decided to continue with the direction of mechanicswhat was his greatest passion.
Those who knew him remember him above all for his talentas well as the passion with which he approached the topic engines.
To think he had already thought about how to modify the wheelchair motorized which had been provided to him after the discovery of the disease.
The funeral the 16-year-old will be celebrated next Friday, at 10.30, in the church of Sant'Antonio, on the Lido of Venice. Classmates and friends were invited to participate with their own mopedjust as Leonardo would have liked.
