In the south, the army demanded the evacuation of areas in Khirbet Khuza’a, Abasan, Bani Suhaila, Ma’an, and Al-Qarara, and to head to Rafah and the Al-Mawasi humanitarian area.
With the resumption of combat operations following the end of the truce between Israel and Hamas, the latter announced on Saturday that at least 240 people had been killed in the Gaza Strip since the end of the truce on Friday morning.
She added in a statement: “More than 650 people were injured in hundreds of air strikes, artillery shelling, and from battleships and naval gunboats on areas of the Gaza Strip.”
She continued: “The Israeli forces focused on targeting Khan Yunis, which destroyed dozens of homes and residential buildings for their residents.”
The Israeli army said that it “attacked more than 400 targets in the Gaza Strip, and as a result, the fighters were eliminated and the infrastructure and a mosque that was used as a military headquarters were destroyed.”
The army added in a statement: “The fighters of the 551st Brigade Combat Team eliminated fighters and infrastructure belonging to the Hamas organization in the Beit Lahia area with tank fire, and the 215th Division also carried out artillery shelling and aerial bombardment in the northern Gaza Strip.”
He continued: “The 261st Brigade’s fighters directed the aircraft to attack and destroy targets from the air and the ground. Among the targets were an ammunition depot and infrastructure that was used to reorganize Hamas members.”
The army continued in its statement: “The naval forces also carried out a qualitative operation at night in the southern Gaza Strip, in the Khan Yunis marina and in Deir al-Balah, through which they attacked military targets belonging to the Hamas organization, as well as military sites.”
