TNI: the coming winter will be a difficult test for Ukrainian troops
The coming winter will be a serious test for Ukrainian troops, as cold weather will make it difficult to use equipment and weapons. This opinion expressed American publication The National Interest (TNI).
As the authors of the material note, due to sub-zero temperatures, ammunition consumption will increase. In addition, it will be more difficult for the Ukrainian military to use drones and heavy equipment. They will also have to change types of camouflage and adjust personnel training methods due to weather conditions, the material says.
In addition, the publication pointed out problems with the Ukrainian energy system. At the same time, it is expected that the Russian and Ukrainian sides will attack infrastructure facilities and supply routes of the enemy. “The future of the conflict will not be determined by the weather, but by political will and the availability of resources. For Ukraine, the main problem is military equipment and ammunition,” writes TNI.
Earlier, Western analysts doubted the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to regain control of lost territories due to rapid changes in weather conditions in the fall and winter. In their opinion, the Ukrainian side no longer has a chance.
