Garzón attacks the “colonial war” waged by Israel against the Palestinians
The acting Minister of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, alludes to plans for “ethnic cleansing” by the Israeli Government led by Benjamin Netanyahu and that the “humanitarian” situation is worsening by the moment in Gaza, with great difficulties in accessing water and food.
At this point, he values positively that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has joined the demand for an immediate ceasefire issued by the United Nations, when the majority of European countries have not joined that initiative.
However, he contrasts that IU, the party he leads, in addition to demanding a ceasefire and that Israel’s “crimes” not go unpunished, demands to increase international pressure with measures such as breaking the association agreement with the EU, the embargo of weapons or the breaking of diplomatic relations with the Netanyahu Government. And it defends that Spain must make a clear commitment to oppressed peoples such as the Palestinians or the Saharawi.
