The National Theater published on Wednesday Instagram– on his account a publication calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“We demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza”, Director General of the National Theatre Mika Myllyaho states in the publication and appeals to our political leaders: “Do everything you can so that the killing of civilians in the region stops and humanitarian aid arrives.”
Myllyaho tells HS that publishing the statement felt “natural”.
“We see that the ceasefire must be enforced, the situation in Gaza is terrible. We wanted to react, and this publication was the first move,” he says.
“Humanity and humanity are our themes, we explore them through art. We want to be vigilant about such topics.”
Also museum workers demand a ceasefire. An account named “Museum workers for a ceasefire” has appeared on Instagram. Its profile picture is the flag of Palestine.

“In the UN General Assembly’s vote in favor of a humanitarian ceasefire on 26 October 2023, Finland shamefully abstained. We demand that the Finnish leadership join the 120 UN member states that advocated a humanitarian ceasefire.”
