The Akkodis ASP Team will apply to enter the FIA World Endurance Championship for the 2024 season with two Lexus.
In the year of its 25th anniversary, the French team directed by Jérôme Policand is ready to turn the page and face a brand new challenge in the top world series reserved for covered wheels after the years spent in the GT World Challenge combined with Mercedes-AMG.
The advent of the brand new LMGT3 Class will allow the team to try to be present with two RC F GT3s, a model that it is testing in the Portimao tests from today with José Maria Lopez at the wheel.
Naturally, every decision on admission to the series will be up to the FIA and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, as also explained in the official note issued by the transalpine team, which prefers to remain on conditionals before being certain of a place on the grid.
In any case, this could be granted thanks to the priority of Toyota, which as we know will bring its personal GT3 into action in the dedicated categories in a couple of years; the Lexus brand, being part of the Japanese family, would therefore have a preferential channel, but obviously official confirmations from the parties involved are awaited.

It all also arises from Akkodis ASP’s already existing relationship with Toyota for the French GT4, where it prepares a GR Supra GT4.
The press release also specifies that the names of the pilots will be announced later. ‘Pechito’ Lopez himself could have a place, given that he is about to leave that of the GR010 Hybrid LMH to Nyck De Vries, remembering however that the presence of competitors with Bronze licenses is required for the LMGT3.
Ritomo Miyata, a young Toyota driver already seen at Fuji with the CarGuy Racing/Kessel Ferrari, could therefore have a place in the crews, as the Japanese brand has been saying for some time to help him grow in the championship. Among others there are also Ben Barnicoat and Jack Hawksworth, who have been racing for Lexus in IMSA for some time.
