The Russian Armed Forces used new long-range Italmas drones for the first time in the Northern Military District zone
The Russian Armed Forces (AF) used long-range kamikaze drones “Italmas” for the first time in the special military operation (SVO) zone. This is reported by Telegram-Mash channel.
It is noted that the new devices are lighter than the Geranium-2 drones used, and their engine makes a different sound. For this reason, the new device is more difficult to recognize and intercept.

The channel publishes a video filmed in the Kyiv region, in which the sound of a new drone can presumably be heard. “A Zala drone flew into an ammunition depot and left the Ukrainian Armed Forces without another round of ammunition and missiles. The production code name of the UAV is “Product 54,” the statement says.
In September, the American publication The Drive wrote that Russian Geranium drones received a new warhead with tungsten submunitions. Also, the updated devices differ from the previous version in the airframe made of modernized composite material.
In the same month, the chief designer of the Russian company Zala Aero, Alexander Zakharov, spoke about the development of the Italmas kamikaze drone, which became an analogue of the Geranium. The new drone with a range of over 200 kilometers has received an increased warhead.
