The agency’s commissioner-general, Philippe Lazzarini, told reporters, “Not a single drop of water, not a single grain of wheat, or a liter of fuel has been allowed to enter the Gaza Strip during the past eight days.”
He pointed to the unfolding of an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe” in the coastal sector.
While the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombing of the Strip had risen to 2,670 people, the Palestinian Civil Defense team said that more than 1,000 people were missing under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza.
He added in a statement, “Many neighborhoods were pulled out from under the rubble 24 hours after the bombing occurred.”
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 9,600 people were injured in Israeli attacks on the Strip since October 7.
