The Dutch economy contracted by 0.3 percent in the second quarter compared to the previous three months. This means that our country is technically in a recession, which is the case with two consecutive quarters of contraction. The decrease is mainly due to the fact that the Netherlands sold fewer items abroad and households spent less money, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reports.
