It is not official yet, but Carlo Ancelotti will be the coach of Brazil in 2024. This has been announced by the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, confirming what was an open secret.
Rodrigues has made official the hiring of Fernando Diniz as interim coach for one year, and then added that the current Real Madrid coach will be the one to lead Canarinha in the 2024 Copa América.
“Fernando Diniz is going to direct the fate of the Brazilian team for a year. I’m sure he will do it with a lot of competition as he always was. He is the coach and he’s going to reconcile Fluminense and the national team during that time. For us, like coach of the Brazilian team, he is not interim. He has a 12-month contract. He will make the transition to Ancelotti, who will arrive for the Copa América,” said the manager.
When will Carlo Ancelotti join the Brazilian team?
Ancelotti ends his contract with Real Madrid in June 2024 and will take charge of the Brazilian team as soon as the season ends with the whites, which could be extended until June 1 if they manage to reach the Champions League final. Otherwise, LaLiga concludes on May 26, so that would be Carletto’s last game as Real Madrid coach.
When will the Copa América take place?
The 2024 Copa América will be held in the United States between June 20 and July 14 of next year, and Brazil will face the tournament with a new coach.
What has been Carlo Ancelotti’s career as a coach?
Carlo Ancelotti has a long career on the bench behind him. The Italian has trained in the best leagues in Europe, and can boast of being champion in all of them, as well as having won other titles.
At 64, Ancelotti doesn’t know what it’s like to lead a team and Brazil will be his first experience.
