Two the man who was stealing at the traffic station had to be calmed down with a gas atomizer, Häme police say in the bulletin.
The patrol received an assignment from the emergency center to Kivimaa in Lahti. According to the announcement, the guards had caught two shoplifters who were shopping at the traffic station, one of whom was behaving aggressively.
A 60-year-old man was waiting for the patrol at the mission site, lying on the ground, handcuffed by the guards. In addition, the patrol found a 30-year-old man who had been hit by a gas atomizer.
The police found out that the duo had stolen at least three boxes of alcoholic beverages from the traffic station, after which they had left in the direction of the city center.
Guard caught sight of the two in the small house area, and another guard joined them. When the guards apprehended the suspects, the younger man stated that he was in possession of a knife. The man approached the guard in a threatening manner, and the guard had to use a gas sprayer, when the man no longer resisted.
The man in his sixties also behaved aggressively, but handcuffs were enough to subdue him.
The police are investigating the matter as a snoop and as an opposition to a person maintaining order.
