Finnish businessman Thomas Ziliakos has withdrawn from negotiations to buy Manchester United, the Premier League football club, and said that delaying the sale process makes it more difficult for the new owner to build a strong team.
The Glazer family, which owns United, received several offers in February and March, after announcing their intention to sell the club last year.
And Ziliakos wrote on social media: “I backed out of entering the third round of negotiations to buy United.” This delay makes it more difficult for the new owner to build a strong team next season.
British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, owner of Ineos, and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, son of the former Qatari prime minister, were among those who submitted bids to buy United.
