Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed will become a original webcomic, made in collaboration with Korean digital comic giant Webtoon. The cartoon, titled Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple, will focus on Edward Kenway, protagonist of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag (2013). Publishing will start on April 24, 2023.
The story will follow the adventures of Edward Kenway after the events of Black Flag, as Kenway embarks on a perilous search for the Pieces of Eden, a series of ancient artifacts created by a now vanished civilization, which are at the heart of the saga. Additionally, the series will also introduce Noa, a Korean-American descendant of Edward, as she searches for clues about her family’s lost history.
“We are thrilled to expand the Assassin’s Creed series within Webtoon through this amazing collaboration with Webtoon and Redice Studio,” he said in a press release. Julien Fabre, director of global development for Ubisoft’s television and transmedia businesses. “We’ve worked hard with the talented folks at Redice to make this original sequel to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and we hope longtime fans and new readers around the world enjoy it.”
