The United Arab Emirates stressed the need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, warning against illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution.
The Permanent Mission of the UAE to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva published a tweet on its official Twitter account, in which it said: “Ambassador Ahmed Al-Jarman stressed, before the Human Rights Council during the general debate on the situation of human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories, that The need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, as well as to put an end to illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution.
The UAE has expressed on several occasions its condemnation of all practices that contravene the resolutions of international legitimacy and threaten further escalation and instability in the region, such as Israel’s recent decision to allow re-settlement in areas of the northern West Bank, and its issuance of bids to build new settlement units in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing The need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, put an end to illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution, and establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In its statements, the UAE stresses the need for Palestinians and Israelis to refrain from escalatory rhetoric, and to stop incitement to hatred and violence, stressing the importance of maintaining calm, stopping unilateral measures, and working to build confidence, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan.
In terms of security, thousands of Palestinians in the city of Nablus, in the West Bank, attended the funeral of two Palestinians who were killed yesterday morning, by the Israeli army, which confirmed that it was a response to gunmen who targeted its forces during its implementation of a “preemptive and preventive” operation.

He added, “The two detainees are suspected of helping the perpetrator of the shooting attack in the town of Huwwara on March 25.”
At that time, two Israelis were killed in an attack targeting a vehicle at a crossroads near the village of Hawara in the northern West Bank.
And the Israeli army added, in its statement, that “a number of gunmen opened fire in the direction of the forces, who responded with live ammunition.”
According to the statement, the army confiscated military equipment, a pistol, ammunition and a car used by the attacker who carried out the shooting attack in the town of Huwwara.
An AFP correspondent quoted eyewitnesses as saying that large army forces raided several neighborhoods in the city yesterday morning, to carry out arrests.
For months, Nablus has witnessed an escalation of violence between the two sides, as the Israeli army carries out raids from time to time to arrest wanted persons, punctuated by bloody confrontations.
