The return of Lance
Lance Stroll he was one of the great protagonists of the Bahrain GP two weeks ago. The Canadian from Aston Martin, who shouldn’t even have raced on the Sakhir track after the injury suffered on his bicycle a few days before the start of the tests, instead managed to defy the pain, getting the most out of his AMR23 and conquering a unexpected sixth place at the finish line, also ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes. Now the Canadian is expected at the Jeddah test, a very fast and even dangerous track where the Aston Martin will have to confirm its role as second force on the track seen in the Bahrain desert.
The worst is over
“The car has been really competitive all weekend in Bahrain – commented Stroll, speaking to the media present in Saudi Arabia – The guys have done an incredible job over the winter building this car. We are still in a work in progress situation and I can’t wait to see how we fare this weekend. It’s a very different type of track“. Obviously, however, the focus for the #18 concerns his physical condition, especially on a track where accidents – even heavy ones, as Mick Schumacher remembers well – are always around the corner. “The Monday following the Bahrain GP was quite painful Stroll admitted. but it’s been a good weekend for the team, so it was worth suffering a bit. I am improving every day. The worst part is now behind us – he concluded – I’m not 100% yet because these things take time to healbut I’m certainly much better than 10 days ago”.
