Delays are very common in this industry. Usually, this means that a game needs additional time for the developers to deliver the product they so desire. However, it was recently revealed that the reason behind the delay of The Day Before it is a consequence of not registering the name of this title.
Through a statement, Fntastic, the developers of The Day Beforehave revealed that the zombie MMO will no longer be available on March 1, 2023, as expected, but now it will arrive until November 10 of this year. The reason? Well, they forgot to register the name of the game, and someone else beat them. This was what they commented:
“Dear fans,
Right before launch, Steam blocked our game page at the request of an individual, due to the name The Day Before.
As you know, our game was announced in January 2021. At the time of the announcement, The Day Before game trademark was available.
After the announcement of the game, the aforementioned person filed an application with us to register the trademark of The Day Before game in the United States.”
Strangely, the developers also mentioned that they will use this extra time to improve the core experience, a message we often hear when it comes to lag. Remember, The Day Before will be available until November 10, 2023. On related topics, Starfield could experience another delay.
Editor’s Note:
This seems like a joke, something that sites like Hard Drive would have come up with. However, it is real. The strange thing is that it seems that the game was going to need additional development, so this delay caused by not registering the name, will help the developers to create a better experience.
