The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA, for its acronym in English) is working to restore its notification system after a failure that affected scheduled flights throughout US airspace, which were grounded until 14:30 GMT.
(In context: Flights in the US are paralyzed: a computer failure is the cause).
As reported by the FAA on its Twitter account, the Federal Administration proceeded to carry out validation checks and restart the system to restore normality after the failure, which affected the entire US National Airspace System.
According to the American flight tracker FlightAware, there were about 2,500 aircraft delayed as a result of this computer failure.

After the first operations started to restore normal air traffic, the Aviation Administration specified that it had managed to restore “some functions”, but the operations of the airspace control system continued to be “limited”.
The Air Mission Notification System is a procedure that provides essential information to personnel related to flight operations and warns in real time of abnormal status in the US aerospace system.
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, was informed by the Secretary of Transportation about the interruption of the airspace control system, as reported by the White House on Twitter, while explaining that “there is no evidence of a cyber attack at this time.”

In any case, Biden ordered the Department of Transportation to open an investigation information on the causes of this failure. The US had suffered air chaos two weeks ago, although then it was due to the passage of winter storm Elliot, which caused thousands of flight cancellations.
“At the moment” there is no evidence that the computer problem that caused the suspension of domestic flights in the United States on Wednesday was due to a cyberattack, the White House said, adding that President Joe Biden was informed. “There is no evidence of a cyberattack at this time, but the President has directed DOT to conduct a full investigation into the causes. The FAA will provide regular updates,” tweeted press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, referring to the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Authority.
