“Tomorrow’s healthcare is also designed, and above all, with strong support for research. In this regard I remember the 300 million euros offered by the Ministry of Health with which we have recently financed 487 research projects. From here, in particular, 226 are biomedical research projects receiving 262 million euros from the Pnrr. The development of research and innovation has a direct impact on the effectiveness of assistance methods, for a total, increasingly multidisciplinary, integrated, personalized management”. Thus the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci, in a message sent this morning to the organizers of the first edition of the Healthcare Innovation Forum, promoted by Core in collaboration with the Campus Bio-Medico, where it is underway. Objective of the event: to analyze the major transformations on the subject and the potential offered by technological innovation and digitization to design the medicine of the future.
“Today Italy – underlines Schillaci in his message – has the possibility of making health care the field of action for innovation, a challenge that we are already engaged in, even with the investments made possible by European funds. A challenge to everything field, since innovation is a transversal key factor, capable of influencing every area: prevention, diagnostics, therapies, health infrastructure, solutions for telemedicine, development of the electronic health recordor on which we are focusing decisively to build an increasingly interoperable, online, homogeneous healthcare system throughout the national territory”.
The Healthcare Innovation Forum, concludes Schillaci, “already from this first edition, presents itself as an important opportunity for discussion on the opportunities that innovation and technological development offer to our capacities for care and assistance. I am sure that on these issues, which are so important for the future of our health system, significant reflections and proposals will emerge from the Forum”.
