cairo – A hunting dog fallen into a cave, he was saved after a long and complex intervention conducted by the Cairo Montenotte firefighters and by the personnel of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Liguria.
The animal – called Laika – this morning was in the woods of Plodio together with its owner. Pursuing a prey she fell into a cave at a depth of ten meters.
Its recovery immediately appeared difficult not only due to the depth, but also due to the fact that the entrance to the cave was particularly narrow.
The first recovery attempts yielded no results. This is how the speleo experts of the Alpine Rescue were called. To reach Laika, the rescuers had to dig a tunnel.
In the end, again with the support from the outside of Alpine Rescue technicians and firefighters, the dog was reached and brought back to safety to the joy of the owner. Laika is fine, she only has a minor wound on her muzzle perhaps resulting from the fall or caused by some wild animal that she found herself facing during the hours spent inside the cave.
