President-elect arrived late for meeting with Alckmin; will watch the game alongside members of the transition summit
O president elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will watch the match between the teams of Brazil and Switzerland, this Monday (28.Nov.2022) with his wife, Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, and with the transition summit at CCBB (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil), office of the elected government.
Initially, there was a forecast that Lula would return to the hotel where he is staying in Brasilia to accompany the match. But the petista changed his mind when he arrived for the meetings. He was late for his first official appointment of the day. A meeting was scheduled for 11:30 am with the vice president-elect, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), at the CCBB. Lula, however, arrived at the site at 11:45 am.
He was accompanied by PT president Gleisi Hoffmann, senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) and Lula Institute president Paulo Okamoto. The technical coordinator of the transition, Alozio Mercadante, and some PT congressmen should also watch the match alongside Lula.
Former senator and elected deputy Marina Silva (Rede-SP) said she was invited to follow the match at CCBB as well, but preferred to go home and watch with her family. “I go there with my family, everyone is organized”said.
Lula resumed his work schedule in Brasília this Monday with the mission of unlocking the progress of the PEC (Proposal for Amendment to the Constitution), which frees up space in the 2023 Budget to support the PT’s campaign promises. He should stay in the federal capital until Friday (2.Dec.2022).
