Using white as the base color, the two Porsche 911 RSR-19s will sport red, blue, pink, black, gold and gray stripes on the front, sides and rear wing. Each of these shades derives from a classic Porsche Motorsport design, including the ‘pink pig’ color scheme with which Porsche took its class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018.
Both cars will also carry a large ‘Goodbye’ message in English above the windshield and on the roof in the national languages of all countries where the 911 RSR has raced, signifying the latest race in the GTE Pro category, the most loved by fans. .
Porsche also pays tribute to the drivers who have been part of its WEC program over the years, with their names written in white on a completely black roof.
Furthermore, the 16 races that Porsche has won since joining the GTE Pro class in 2013 are mentioned on the fenders of both cars.
“Our cars will be really eye-catching at the final round of the FIA WEC. I can’t wait to see the reaction from the fans,” said Thomas Laudenbach, vice president of Porsche Motorsport.
“The GTE-Pro class of the World Endurance Championship will be eliminated at the end of the 2022 season. So, this will be the swan song for the factory team’s 911 RSR wing.”
“For this very special occasion, our designers have created a livery that, in my opinion, beautifully represents the history and successes of the last decade. And the icing on the cake will come to Bahrain: We aim to win the race and the constructors ‘and drivers’ titles. “.

The Bahrain 8 Hours marks the final race for the GTE Pro division, which at its peak saw the participation of Ferrari, Ford, BMW and Aston Martin, as well as Porsche.
However, interest in the category has waned over the years and only five cars participate in the entire 2022 season, with two cars fielded by Porsche and Ferrari, complemented by a single Corvette.
Cars built under the GTE regulations, including the Porsche 911 RSR-19, will continue to participate in the WEC for another year in 2023 in the GTE Am class, before giving way to a new category reserved exclusively for GT3 cars.
The demise of the GTE Pro division, however, does not mark the end of Porsche’s participation in the WEC, as it will move up to the premier category with the 963 LMDh next year.
