The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office stated that it did not file a request with Roskomnadzor to block the Telegram-owned domain for creating short t.me links. This is reported RIA News with reference to the press service of the department.

On the evening of October 29, Roskomnadzor restricted access to the t.me short link domain owned by Telegram, it followed from the data service departments to check restrictions on access to sites.

The basis for entering into the register is Article 15.3 of the Federal Law “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection”.
The article assumes restriction of access to sites on the Internet containing information with calls for mass riots, the implementation of extremist activities, or unreliable publicly significant information.
Later, the t.me domain disappeared from the registry of resources restricted by Roskomnadzor. However, there was still no access to it.
