It looks like Sony is ready to create a new PlayStation studio. According to a recent job application, plans to build a never-before-seen team are already underway, and His first objective would be to help naughty dog in the creation of a yet unannounced game.
The job application mentions that this new team would be created in collaboration with PlayStation Studios Visual Arts, a developer who previously helped with PlayStation motion capture, cinematics, animation, and more on various franchises, including Uncharted and The Last of Us. This is what was mentioned about it:
“This high visibility project is being developed in collaboration with Naughty Dog. Although not currently announced, we have a clear vision and plan to launch. Using our existing experience and top-tier talent, we will ensure a high-quality visual bar for the game and a compelling experience for our players.”
Although it is not specifically mentioned in the job application, the first project of this team would be an AAA one, since those interested are required to have a mastery in the production and management of experiences of this caliber. In addition to this, it has been speculated that this title would be related to the Uncharted serieswhich hasn’t seen an entirely new installment since 2017.
Although at the moment there is no official information, the idea of seeing Nathan Drake and company once again is something that has been in the minds of the players, and of the PlayStation members themselves. Earlier in the year, Shaun Escayg, chief creative officer at Naughty Dog, said this is a world we “want to see more of.” On related topics, the movie Uncharted It would already have a release date on Netflix.
Editor’s note:
The idea of seeing a new installment of Uncharted is something that we all look forward to. However, if a studio other than Naughty Dog takes on this project, this could be somewhat controversial, although I’m not against this possibility, I’d just be skeptical.
