What I am going to relate this day is not historical: it is true. I use that expression, learned from my unforgettable teacher, Mr. Arturo Moncada Garza, because the history of Mexico that we have been told, that which is advocated by current historians, the favorites of the circle closest to the President, is a web of lies that lead to incurring in capital nonsense, such as removing the statue of Columbus from his roundabout or sending letters with absurd requests for forgiveness.
It is true then, and not historical, what I will narrate next. In a certain town in the southeast there was a custom known as “the return.” When a married couple got married, in the middle of the wedding banquet the groom took the bride to the hut that was in front of the bower where the party was taking place, and there the marriage was consummated. If the bride was a virgin, the groom would go out and tell his father the news. The man stood up and announced to the guests: “Gentlemen: there is a return.”
Immediately the girl would come out, dressed again in her bridal attire, and on the arm of her happy husband she would proudly walk around the bower, to the applause of the guests. Sometimes it happened that the bride did not arrive as a maiden to the marriage. In that case, the father of the disappointed boyfriend made the opposite announcement: “There is no turning back.” Ipso facto the marriage commitment was broken, and the parents of the frustrated wife, as well as her, were forced, full of shame before the assistants, to drink pozol in a bule or gourd with holes, and from then on they were excluded from any treatment in community. It happened that a young woman who enjoyed general appreciation for her virtue was married.
To everyone’s surprise, the night of the wedding, after the obligatory conjugal trance, the groom’s father announced: “Gentlemen: there is no turning back.” The girl’s parents were dismayed, and spoke with her daughter. She swore and perjured that she had come a virgin to her betrothal. The father of the young woman opposed, therefore, the opinion of the in-law. He knew his daughter, he declared, and was sure she was telling the truth. Uproar broke out among the attendees. Someone suggested that the local midwife, an expert in female ailments, be summoned, and she certified the maiden’s virginity. Then he questioned her carefully about what had happened in the privacy of her bed. The midwife, then, spoke separately with the father of the newlywed. “Gentlemen,” he said to the guests, “there is a return.
The boyfriend was very drunk, and he was sheathing where he shouldn’t have been sheathing”. The event that I have narrated serves to illustrate a statement: the uses and customs of ethnic groups can be very picturesque, but many times they are very bastards. Violence stems from them. that can no longer be allowed, even if they are customary and habitual, such as the forced marriage of girls and adolescents, or the sale of them by their parents. The traditions of these peoples must be preserved, but only those that do not involve acts of That of “the little Indians”, a paternalistic term similar to that of the innocent savage that Rousseau spoke of, is a myth invented by the indigenous supporters of the black legend of Spain, in its time the greatest power in the world, and therefore the most under attack, to which we owe the culture in which we live.
Our indigenous peoples must also belong to such a culture. Keeping them out of it under the pretext of respecting those highly favored uses and customs is a form of discrimination that cannot prevail, since modernity prevails over dogmas and lies, and I won’t say more, because I already said more. FINISH.

OPUS 33 VARIATIONS ON THE THEME OF DON JUAN
Don Juan is the most faithful lover that there has been in this world.
Never when he was in bed with one woman did he think of another. He loved many only one night, but that night there was no other woman for him. He didn’t cheat on her even with the thought of her.
In all the women Don Juan loved only one, and in her he loved all the others. He was a man of many women, and at the same time he was a man of one woman.
Therefore, the legend of Don Juan as a womanizing man is false. For him every woman was at the time the only woman. And if over time he remembered her, that woman would once again be, in her memory, the one and only woman.
Let us do justice, then, to the good Don Juan. He was not a seducer. He was seduced. All men are. We foolishly suppose that we are the conquerors, and in truth we are the conquered. One day a playwright wiser than Tirso de Molina will write about Doña Juana. She is the real Don Juan.
See you tomorrow!…

“. ‘We are not the same’, AMLO affirms over and over again.”.
He says it and repeats it loudly
in very formal terms.
It cries: “We are not the same.”
And it is the truth. They are worse.
