If you are out of work and have exhausted unemployment, you have the possibility of continuing to receive aid
If you have already exhausted the unemployment, the State Public Employment Service offers different options to continue receiving aid in case you continue without work. If you are over 52 years old or have family responsibilities, these are some of the situations to receive a subsidy. In 2018, a new benefit was added that is still in force: the extraordinary unemployment subsidy.
Who can be a beneficiary
To access the extraordinary unemployment subsidy, people must be in one of these two situations:
– Have extinguished due to exhaustion any of the unemployment benefits provided for in article 274 of TRLGSS as of 07/05/2018 and those who have exhausted it between 03/01/2018 and 07/04/2018.
– Long-term unemployed persons (registered as job seekers for at least 360 days in the immediately preceding 18 months) who have exhausted unemployment benefits, PREPARA, or RAI and were registered as job seekers on 05/01/2018.
Requirements
In both situations, a series of requirements must be met in order to apply for the extraordinary subsidy:
– Lacking the right to unemployment protection at the contributory or welfare level.
– Not having reached the age that allows access to the retirement pension, in its contributory or non-contributory modalities.
– Lack of income, of any nature, higher in monthly computation than 75% of the minimum interprofessional salary (SMI), excluding the proportional part of two extraordinary payments and accrediting family responsibilities.
– Having ceased involuntarily in the last job performed in case of having worked after exhausting the last right.
– Not having previously received the accompanying financial aid established in the Employment Activation Program (PAE).
– On the date of your request, not be working part-time as an employee or not have your employment contract suspended.
– Not having previously been a beneficiary of the extraordinary unemployment subsidy.
How long does the subsidy last?
Recipients of the extraordinary unemployment subsidy will receive the benefit for 80 days. This is the maximum duration and can only be requested once. The amount of the subsidy will be equal to 80% of the public multiple-purpose income indicator (IPREM) in force at any given time. This 2022 is marked at 463.21 euros.
The periodic payment of the financial aid will be made by the SEPE within the month following the accrual, in monthly installments of 30 days, between the 10th and 15th of the month. The worker may reconcile the receipt of the extraordinary subsidy with part-time paid employment, provided that they continue to meet the requirements of lack of income and family responsibilities, in which case the part proportional to the time worked will be deducted from the amount of the subsidy. .
