The most voted federal deputies in this year’s elections participated in a debate promoted by CNN Brasil on the afternoon of this Wednesday, 12. The meeting, whose initial objective was to discuss the presidential candidates’ plans and the future of Brazilian politics, turned into an exchange of insults and chat. In the broadcast made by CNN, Nikolas Ferreira (PL) and Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) exchanged barbs and defended their respective candidates for the Planalto: President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
The Bolsonaro parliamentarian, when talking about the relationship between the Legislature and a possible new Lula government, said that “the big game back there is over”. “I question the movement of Boulos, created in 1997 and which still has no roof. I am impressed by the wild promises of the PT and the left, to bring picanha, to bring beer, but in fact (Boulos) is a homeless man with a jet,” he said. Nikolas also stated that the MTST coordinator must be “in abstinence” for staying four years without invading “a little land”.
To defend himself against accusations of trespassing on land and depredating public property, Boulos replied: “What should be invaded is your empty head, your brain with no social function”.
Speaking about religion and the presidential campaigns, Boulos questioned the public about a possible choice of Jesus Christ between more weapons or fighting hunger. In response, Nikolas stated that the coordinator of the MTST was “Pastor Bolous”.
Nikolas was the candidate for the Chamber of Deputies with the most votes in 2022. The Bolsonarista was elected with 1,492,047 by Minas Gerais. The second position belongs to Boulos. The coordinator and founder of the Homeless Workers Movement (MTST) obtained 1,001,472 votes and won a seat for São Paulo.
