CDMX.- The auto parts sector will close the year with 870 thousand jobs, the largest in the last four years, pointed out the National Auto Parts Industry (INA).
This means an increase of 4.3 percent compared to the jobs generated in 2021, he added.
Will be the second highest number of employment in the sector in the history of the indicator, after the 886 thousand jobs that were generated in 2018, the INA said in a statement.
The rise in employment is linked to the technological revolution in the auto parts sector.
“This association projects a growing demand for qualified personnel on topics such as system and software requirements, functional safety, automotive cybersecurity, Autosar and Model V, among others,” he added.
To meet the demand for qualified personnel in the auto parts sector, Mexico and the United States require engineers in automotive systems, of which 43 percent must specialize in electrical systems.
He added that other areas that will require specialization are interiors, automotive train, vehicle tests, bodywork, chassis, materials and exteriors.
According to the INA, despite the fact that the vacancy rate in the sector is high, four out of 10 employers have problems finding qualified human capital in technical areas.
On the other hand, the auto parts production forecast for this year is above pre-pandemic levels.
