Sixty years ago the world music scene became aware of the existence of Beatles, thanks to the release of their first single titled “Love Me Do”. Few thought that that band would do the math in the years to come with all the success that we know they have received, for this reason, after sixty years, the world stopped to remember and pay homage to a single that was unknowingly paving the career of four. Boys. The world of four wheels also wanted to celebrate this anniversary, and in particular Lamborghini.
The carmaker del Toro has indeed embarked on a very special tour in the city of London on a 400 GT 2 + 2, starting from the Abbey Road studios, where the Beatles recorded almost all of their production including “Love Me Do”, to get to Savile Row, where in 1969, the last time they performed live on the roof of the Apple Corps headquarters, a 400 GT 2 + 2 Rosso Alfa with black interior was parked. A tribute that Lamborghini wanted to pay to the whole band and in particular to Paul McCartney, who among all four members of the group, who were great car enthusiasts, was the one who let himself be seduced by the charm of the Lamborghini 400 GT 2 + 2. On the other hand, we are talking about a car that then as now carries with it a distinctive trait of the models of the house of Toro: a 4-liter V12 engine with double overhead camshaft.
“This is where Paul McCartney drew inspiration: Londonthe city that guided his writing, his creative processes and his boundless curiosity – said the English author and journalist Dylan Jones OBE, who has repeatedly interviewed the Beatles bassist – If in the past he had considered himself a traditionalist, the rapid changes that have affected the London underground culture prompted him to explore his creativity, continuing to work with John Lennon to give us a series of still unparalleled musical masterpieces“.
