Maserati electrifies itself. With the presentation of the Folgore, the GranTurismo is also equipped with an all-electric version, with noteworthy performance data and a design approach, which distinguish the house of the Trident within the panorama of battery-powered sports cars. Folgore also that, despite the approximately 500 kg of excess weight compared to the Modena and the Trofeo, has superior performance to those of its thermal cousins. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h takes place in 2.7 seconds, against the 3.9 and 3.5 seconds of Modena and Trofeo respectively.
Folgore is equipped with a battery pack capable of delivering 560 kW of power continuously, equivalent to 760 horsepower, with the possibility of reaching 830 horsepower for short moments with the MaxBoost function. The three electric motors, radial and non-axial flux to maximize torque density, appear oversized, with a power of 400 horsepower each for a total of 1200 horsepower. The decision stems from the desire to ensure maximum flexibility in the distribution of the 830 horsepower available from the battery between the three engines, without being limited by the performance of the single engine.
The total torque is impressive, equal to 1350 Nm. The two electric motors on the rear axle, where the mechanical differential is absent, allow it to be distributed on each wheel thanks to the Torque Vectoring strategy. Below are the main technical and performance data released by Maserati.
