Authorities believe the actual death toll could be twice as high.
The authorities of Florida, in the United States, have raised to at least 21 the balance of deaths as a result of Hurricane ‘Ian’ as it passed through the state.

The combination of strong winds, rain and storm surge from ‘Ian’ has flooded houses, blocked roads and left more than two million people without power, according to the US network CNN.
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has already warned that ‘Ian’ could be the “deadliest” hurricane in the history of the state of Florida, which has already been declared a catastrophic area by the Administration.
The hurricane is heading northwest and it is expected that throughout Friday the eye of the same will make landfall in the states of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, the latter state in which the emergency zone has also been declared .
The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) has warned that the hurricane is expected to cause “life-threatening flooding, storm surge and strong winds” in North Carolina and its neighbor to the south.
‘Ian’ made landfall in Florida on Wednesday as a category four hurricane, with wind gusts of up to 150 miles per hour.
