Back in the league Juuso Puustinen (2+0) missed the 7–6 winning goal by Joel Blomqvist in time 62.59.
“Lätkä is at its finest, and this was a big win for us. We had a lot of meetings in the last couple of days and the team answered the call. I’m really proud of our players”, Puustinen commented on JYP’s first away win of the season.
Before from his foreign tour, Puustinen scored 30 goals in the 2017–18 regular season for JYP. Last season in SHL’s Örebro was almost entirely over due to health problems.
“The level of the league is tough. We strive to grow week by week, game by game and training by training, and ourselves at the same time. I can finally be healthy. It will bear fruit in the long run.”
Against Kärppi, JYP already led 3–0 at the start, but in a roller-coaster game, the lead changed in the third set to Kärppien Ville Leskinen with two successes.
For the rest, the game was accompanied by JYP Joakim Kemellin great shot with superiority.
