final fantasy XIV is going through that transition period that comes after the arrival of a huge expansion, in this case, that of Endwalker. With the arrival of patch 6.2 came some adjustments that we have been waiting for a long time and they are finally here.
Finally there are the islands, the respective raids that will cost you work and a handful of players will pass in the blink of an eye and a series of tributes to Final Fantasy 4 that are happening through FFXIV.
We had the opportunity to interview Naoki Yoshida to talk more about this topic and answer some questions we have about patch 6.2 of final fantasy XIV. By the way, we want to thank you for the time you took to answer all these questions that we show you below.
The difficulty when developing Raids in Final Fantasy XIV
The community is one of the pillars that sustain final fantasy XIV. Thanks to their loyalty, the game has come this far and is in the place it deserves. Naoki Yoshida knows this and pays great attention to all the feedback he gets.
“Feedback is something we get constantly, but at the same time, players improve their skill every year. How we manage this level of skill between veterans who have played for years and new players is somewhat difficult to determine.”, said Naoki Yoshida for TierraGamer.
“In terms of tweaks to raids on Normal and Savage difficulty, it really depends on everything we do, continuous playtesting, math on all the numbers, and even bringing together people with different skill levels within the Ops team to let them try it.
“We share all of this via Zoom, and then make adjustments by asking what mechanics got stuck on, if there were enough flags in the game, and more. There is no simple way to do it, and there are times when we trust only the intuition that we have cultivated from experience. Needless to say, it is very hard work (laughs wryly).”
Final Fantasy IV and the arrival of Island Sanctuary
who has spent a lot of time final fantasy XIV It is found on more than one occasion to the references of the different installments of the series. Now with Endwalker Much emphasis was placed on FFIVwithout the need to fall into abuse, of course.
“Every single person involved in the development of Final Fantasy XIV is a die-hard fan of the franchise. So, it’s very exciting for us to be able to express that wonder that we experienced in our childhood in a way that is unique to FFXIV. At the same time, to avoid just copying what has been done in previous games, molding to the true intention of Final Fantasy XIV. We all had a lot of fun developing this, and we hope you keep an eye out for what the future holds.”
On the other hand, we finally have Island Sanctuary. It took a while to arrive, but it is here and, due to its characteristics, we associate it with Animal Crossing Y Stardew Valley. Was there any kind of inspiration from these games to develop this content?
“No, the concept and project of the Island Sanctuary was proposed before the pandemic. Much of the content in FFXIV is planned two years in advance, much sooner than many realize. So while we do look at other games for reference, they don’t have as big of an impact on us. What we do is that we will continue to improve and update the game carefully, taking into account the feedback of the players.

Final Fantasy XIV and the plan to improve Island Sanctuary
Naoki Yoshida together with his team does everything possible for FFXIV to be ready, so much so that we do not pay attention to trifles, but things do not always go perfectly perfectly. Players have provided feedback regarding some UI issues. Now they are doing their thing to attend to every detail.
On the other hand, we asked Naoki Yoshida if we could have a rooster minion with a name that refers to Zenos, this because of the expectations caused by the Mogchute Farm.
“Hahaha, I was also occasionally watching the live stream and saw everyone giving the animals nicknames and showing their love. The Island Sanctuary allows you to name the animals in your care, so I hope that helps. A Zenos minion is something I will consider separately (laughs).”
don’t forget that final fantasy XIV is available on PS5, PS4, PC, and MAC (via Steam). Will it come to Xbox? Well that’s still looking for Phil Spencer. We also remind you that it has a free trial, so give it a try and enjoy a story that continues to evolve.
