Former governor met with businessmen and agro representatives in Goiânia for a closed meeting
Former Governor of São Paulo Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), candidate for vice on the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), defended the return of the Ministry of Industry to businessmen from Goiás. would be part of a “competitive agenda” that the campaign is creating.
The speech was at a meeting held on the afternoon of Wednesday (21.Sep.2022) with businessmen from Fieg (Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás), in Goiânia (GO). According to Alckmin, a process of re-industrialization of the country is necessary for 2 reasons: increase in the average income of the worker and reduction of external dependence in strategic sectors.
“We are going to have a recovery in the industry because in the pandemic the precautionary principle emerged. I can’t just depend on China for hospital equipment, or just on India for the pharmaceutical industry. We are the breadbasket of the world, we cannot depend on fertilizers from 3 companies, one of them in Russia“, said.
The governor also defended, as part of this agenda, that tax reform be carried out quickly. He cited the PECs (Proposed Amendments to the Constitution) 110 and 45 as possibilities. According to him, the goal is to simplify taxes by creating the IBS (Goods and Services Tax) while maintaining the current charge. O Power 360 accompanied the entire meeting.
“The concern with reindustrialization is total. There was an early process of deindustrialization in the country. When the country gets rich, there may be other places where you pay less to produce. But not before. Industry is needed to make a leap in middle income”continued.
Charges
Alckmin was charged by the president of Fieg, former deputy Sandro Mabel, about Lula’s statements criticizing agribusiness entrepreneurs. The pessebist reinforced the statement that private property is a constitutional guarantee. “You give us peace of mind with this statement” replied Mabel.
Alckmin received a document (intact) with 9 demands. Said to agree with all. Among the proposals is the maintenance of the labor reform and the right to private property.
“I agree in gender, number and degree with the proposals. Lula, as union leader, repeats: ‘It is what was agreed above the legislated’. He has already said that he will not revoke the reform.”, said Alckmin. He pondered that some specific sectors, such as food delivery and transportation platforms, need more specific laws.
1st shift
Alckmin said he believed that the victory of his ticket with Lula against Bolsonaro will be on October 2. “With humility we will arrive [à vitória] in the 1st round. Every candidate wants to win in the 1st round, but if they have 2nd, we will win in the 2nd”, he said in a conversation with the Power 360.
Watch (3min02s):
Alckmin called the rapporteur’s amendments, known as “secret budget“, in “outgrowth“. “I understand unacceptable. We need to have transparency, it is part of public life. What we should encourage is participatory budgeting“, said. The PT expects the president of the STF, Rosa Weber, to declare the measures unconstitutional.
PSDB support
During his visit to Goiânia, Alckmin received the support of the PSDB sector that defended Eduardo Leite (RS) in the elections. The group is led by former federal deputy Giuseppe Vecci.
President of the municipal PSDB of Goiânia, councilor Aava Santiago also supported Lula. Evangelical, she countered the propaganda of the Jair Bolsonaro group (PL) that Lula would ban churches in the country. “Lula and Dilma never closed a church. More than that: they defended that everyone can have their faith“, said.
