Former judge sentenced Lula to 9 years and 6 months in prison for passive corruption and money laundering in the Guarujá triplex case
The Senate Candidate Sergio Moro (União Brasil) commented on the departure of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to Curitiba this Saturday (17.Sep.2022). In your profile on twitterthe former minister stated that “whoever is criminal and corrupt should be imprisoned”.
Along with the message, Moro shared a video of his campaign on the Brazilian justice system. “The work of a judge in Brazil can be quite thankless. With each arrest warrant, a new habeas corpus. Catch and release. Like a revolving door, the system was designed to be that way. It’s time for someone to change the system.”says the play.
Lula held a rally in Boca Maldita, in the central region of Curitiba. accompanied by Roberto Requiãothe name of the party in the race for the government of Paraná, the PT said he did not want the Armed Forces to interfere in the elections and declared that civilians do not need to be “protected”.

In the 2nd Instance, the TRF-4 (Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region) maintained the conviction, but increased the penalty for 12 years and 1 month. The judgment at the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) penalty has been reduced for 8 years and 10 months. The former president was imprisoned for 580 days for Moro’s conviction for case of triplex in Guarujá (SP).
