Saint Sebastian. The American actress Glenn Close, who was expected this week in San Sebastián to preside over the Zinemaldia jury, has canceled his visit to the capital of San Sebastian due to a “family emergency”.
The San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) has reported, in a statement, that Close will not attend this 70th edition of the competition, which begins on Friday, and will not be able to preside over the official jury, as planned.
This responsibility will fall to Argentine producer Matías Mosteirín, who will lead a jury also made up of casting director and filmmaker Antoinette Boulat (France); the director and screenwriter Tea Lindeburg (Denmark); the writer and journalist Rosa Montero (Spain); filmmaker and visual artist Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese (Lesotho); and the director and screenwriter Hlynur Pálmason (Iceland).
Glenn Close, who last week expressed his “enthusiasm” on social networks to preside over the Zinemaldia jury, has sent a message to the organization of the Festival to communicate his cancellation.
