US President Joe Biden attended a ceremony at the Pentagon this Sunday (Sep 11, 2022) to mark the 21st anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. “American history – American history itself changed that day. But what we have changed – what we will not change, what we can never change, is the character of this nation that the terrorists thought they could hurt.”, said.
According to him, the Pentagon was “at the same time the site of the terrible terrorist attack” and a command center where several “ordinary americans” became “heroes”.
Regarding terrorist threats, Biden said: “We will continue to monitor and stop these terrorist activities wherever we find them, wherever they exist. And we will never hesitate to do whatever it takes to defend the American people.”.
In his speech, Biden also quoted Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday (September 8), remembering a message sent by the monarch on the day of the attack: “Grief is a price we pay for love.”.
Furthermore, on its official profile on twittersaid that the “precious stolen lives” Never “will be forgotten”.
