As is known, the purchase of ActivisionBlizzard by microsoft is just a short time away from completion, and while that’s happening, some companies like PlayStation have disagreed with the decision. An agreement was even reached to put franchises such as Call of Duty in multiplatforms an additional time, specifically 3 years and from there Xbox will continue to decide whether or not to renew.
It is worth mentioning that the CEO of PlayStation, JimRyan, claimed to have said contract in force with the company itself Activision. He has even commented that the offer “was inadequate on many levels.”
In the past week, Xbox revealed that he had provided a signed agreement to Sony to guarantee Call of Duty in PlayStationwith the same features and content, for at least several more years. Xbox He said this offer goes far beyond typical industry deals.
This is what he commented Ryan:
I didn’t mean to comment on what I understood to be a private business discussion, but I feel the need to set the record straight because Phil Spencer brought this up in the public forum.
Microsoft has only offered Call of Duty to remain on PlayStation for three years after the current deal between Activision and Sony ends. After almost 20 years of Call of Duty on PlayStation, their proposal was inadequate on many levels and did not take into account the impact on our players. We want to ensure that users continue to have the highest quality Call of Duty experience, and Microsoft’s proposal undermines this principle.
The purchase process has not yet closed. It is expected to do so at the beginning of 2023.
