Racing completed the first paid transfer in Argentine women’s football: the striker and scorer of the Avellaneda club, Rocío Bueno will go to Sassuolo in the Italian First Division on loan with a charge and a purchase option.
The 29-year-old striker arrived at The Academy in 2020 and since then she has scored 31 goals in the 35 official games the team has played. During this tournament she has converted 13 goals and is one of the top scorers in the first-class championship. In addition, he was the figure of the Argentine National Team in the L’Alcúdia Tournament played in Spain where Argentina was runner-up. That was where the Italian club was able to observe the player and decided to make her an offer to add her to the team.
Bueno’s transfer to the Italian club is a historic event for local women’s football: never before has a footballer been transferred in exchange for money. Many soccer players emigrated but always with the pass in their possession. On this occasion, Bueno was loaned for one year – until June 2023 – to Sassuolo with a charge of 2,000 euros and a definitive purchase option for another 25,000.
The Italian club that will receive the Argentine player is one of the ten clubs that participate in the First A of the Italian women’s series. In the previous edition, he finished in fourth place. The new season has just started.
“I am proud of everything we have grown in this time and I am convinced that Racing will continue to grow. Racing is and will be my home because that is how they made me feel,” said the player in a video that was broadcast on the club’s networks by way of farewell.
