She was asked how she would feel if she had to use nuclear weapons.
“I think this is an important duty of the prime minister. I am ready to do it, ”the newspaper reports her response. The Telegraph.
Earlier, on August 19, Truss said she was ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit. The comment was made in light of Indonesian President Joko Widodo’s statement that the Russian leader plans to take part in person at the G20 summit to be held on November 15-16 in Bali.
On August 22, it was reported that the name of the new Prime Minister of Great Britain and the head of the Conservative Party will become known on September 5 at 14.30 Moscow time. Liz Truss and former finance minister Rishi Sunak are vying for the prime minister’s post. They advanced to the last round of elections on 20 July.
