Today, Thursday, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, made an appeal to end the current crisis in Ukraine.
In an exclusive interview with Agence France-Presse, he called for an end to the conflict to avoid falling into what he called “the abyss of nuclear war”.
“Let’s stop,” Lukashenko said. “It should not go further. (Going) further is the abyss. (Going) further is nuclear war. Things should not go this far,” calling for “stop this chaos in Ukraine.”
The Belarusian president accused Western countries of wanting a conflict with Russia.
“You are the cause and you are prolonging” this crisis, he added.
“We have seen the reasons for this. The reason is that if Russia had not preceded NATO, you (Westerners) would have organized and dealt a blow to it,” Lukashenko explained.
