“The World’s Game” is a reality: EA Sports has announced FIFA 23, the latest chapter in its thirty-year collaboration with the international federation.
Electronic Arts unveiled today EA Sports FIFA 23, revealing the release date of September 27 for the Ultimate Edition and September 30 for the Standard Edition. FIFA 23 will feature women’s club teams for the first time with the inclusion of the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema at launch. Players will also be able to experience the 2022 FIFA Qatar Men’s World Cup and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand as post-launch updates at no additional cost. Furthermore, for the first time, the title will introduce cross-play.
FIFA 23: the news –
“Advances in HyperMotion2 technology and FIFA 23 physics system”, explain from EA Sports in a release, “have unlocked a number of new features that make the game experience more immersive than ever”. “The movements of the team and the players on the pitch they are more responsive, intelligent and authentic, whether it’s fighting against a defender or claiming an aerial ball against an attacker such as a goalkeeper. Players will also be able to count on a new intelligent dribbling system, a more natural and smooth transition to shooting, an all-new acceleration mechanic, increased player awareness and much more. With the debut of women’s club teams, brand new animations inspired by the movements of real players have been added in FIFA 23 ”.
Licensing and cross-play –
FIFA 23 now features women’s club teams with the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema joining the biggest stars and teams, including 19,000+ players in 700+ teams across 100+ stadiums and 30+ leagues. EA Sports “is the only game where you can play the iconic UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana, Premier League, Bundesliga and LaLiga Santander”. The game will include a number of innovations in Career, Pro Club, Volta Football, FIFA 23 Ultimate Team modes and more. The Training Center’s new training system will also give new and less experienced players the ability to easily learn the fundamentals of the game and hone their skills before jumping into a match. The cross-play, finally, will concern two different pools: the versions PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S Stadia and PC of FIFA 23 will be compatible with each other, while those PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will only be able to play with each other. The game is also out on Nintendo Switch with a special Legacy Edition (no cross-play and “no new development or significant improvements” compared to FIFA 22, but with women’s football, new kits and stadiums).
