One of the most anticipated games of the year is Sonic Frontiers, launch of the franchise that has generated much controversy due to the first videos that were released from its open world. However, many changed their minds with the release of new images, and now, many are wondering if this next title will be the basis for the future of the series.
The middle Game Informer recently sat down to interview the head of sonic team, Takashi Iizuka, and asked him a bunch of quick questions. One in particular was that of Iizuka I already knew what the next game would be. The short answer was yes. Given this, she was asked if she could mention any, to later find a refusal due to confidential issues.
This is what he commented in a somewhat longer interview with the media VentureBeat:
What we are doing now is taking the next step. This is the third generation, almost. We know we’re showing fans something new that might not make sense to them yet.
But we really wanted to think about where we should take Sonic for the next 10 years. What kind of gameplay do we need to start developing to keep people excited for the future? Sonic Frontiers is the next step for the next 10 years. We hope that fans believe in us and enjoy what we show them. We look forward to when you can play it and really understand what it’s all about.
Remember that sonic frontiers will arrive at the end of the year PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC.
