The Russian offensive that began on February 24 has been hampered by the iron defense imposed by Ukraine of its territory, and for the great economic and military support they have provided from the West to protect the Ukrainian sovereignty of Moscow.

Although from the Kremlin they estimated total control over the troops of the former member country of the Soviet Union, the command centered in kyiv has prevented total domination and has barely given ground to Russian bombing.

Now, with greater dominance on enemy borders, Russia has found itself with a new problem that once again slows down its offensive for control of Donbas.
According to the latest reports, the Ukrainian Army has managed to contain some of the offensive attacks maintained by the Russians in the eastern region of Donetsk, where the kyiv government still controls strategic enclaves such as the city of Sloviansk.
“Ukrainian defenders have successfully repulsed the Russian assault on the settlements of Dovhenke and Dolyna, in the direction of Sloviansk,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on its Telegram channel on Wednesday.
Despite having halted the Russian advance to some extent, the Ukrainian General Staff acknowledges that it cannot exclude “the enemy continuing to conduct offensive operations to improve its tactical position and create favorable conditions for further attacks between Izium and Sloviansk.”
In another strategic enclave of Donestk, the city of Kramatorsk, “the enemy bombarded the Tetianivka, Mykolaivka, Kryva Luka, Siversk, Serebrianka and Spirne settlement areas with cannon and mortar artillery,” and also “an air attack was launched near Verkhniokamianske,” the military report stressed.
Counteroffensives
The Ukrainian army has launched a counter-offensive in the Russian-occupied part of the Gerson region in the south of the country and has attacked an arms depot, the regional command says on Facebook.
The attack on the weapons depot took place in the city of Nova Kahovka and artillery systems and other material were destroyed. Additionally, 50 Russian soldiers were killed in the operation. On the Russian side there is talk of 2 dead, 4 missing and dozens of wounded.
In addition to the attack on the military depot, many buildings would have been damaged and hundreds of people could be among the ruins.
The Ukrainian government had announced on several occasions that it would try to recover the territories that the Russians have occupied, such as Gerson, and had appealed to civilians to leave the region so as not to be used as human shields by the invaders.
Russian troops, according to the Ukrainian source, maintain artillery and mortar shelling tactics, launching air and missile strikes on the rear positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and settlements along the contact line.
